Beer Pong With A Patriotic Twist

Over the past 10 years beer pong has become an increasingly popular sport which was once almost unheard of. Now there are few people within the middle-aged to younger generations that haven't heard of this extremely fun sport that is bound to give you a quick start to a night of "getting tipsy." In fact once you get good at this game it will take you very little time at all to get addicted to it, making getting drunk a very easy thing to do!

Almost anyone can play beer pong. All you really need in order to play the game is some plastic cups and a few ping-pong balls. It is very common for people without a proper table to simply remove any kind of door from its hinges and lay it flat over two equally sized objects that are about waist level. Even though a simple door can work, it is now much easier to find and purchase an official beer pong table that can come in a variety of designs.

One design that is getting easier to find and puts a fun, patriotic twist to the game is the American Flag table. This style of table has a design on it to make it look like a giant AmericanFlag which is sure to be a huge hit with anyone who like to express their patriotism. They also make a great gift idea for anyone who serves in the military. What a better way for a serviceman/woman to unwind after serving overseas than to come home to some good old-fashioned beer pong which will also serve as a reminder which is the greatest nation in the world to serve for.

Beer pong is one of the only official sports designed with one main goal in mind, to get you wasted! What first started out as a goofy game that younger kids would play in their basements when their parents were out-of-town has since turned into a full-blown sporting event that even has its own National League. There is now even a world series of beer pong that is held once a year in Las Vegas, NV. Although when considering getting into the sport there is one thing you have to keep in mind, if you have trouble handling your booze than you may want to consider trying to play it with something like water instead of beer!

Facts about the American Flag

Here are just a few American Flag Facts that you may not be aware of. There will be more to follow...

-On January 1st 1776, the First American Flag, dubbed the “Grand Union Flag”, was ordered to be raised by George Washington during the siege of Boston. This flag had 13 alternating red and white stripes but it had the British Union Jack in the upper left-hand corner instead of stars.

-The Pledge of Allegiance originated in 1892 when Francis Bellamy wrote it for students to recite on Columbus Day. Soon after that it became a part of every child’s school day. It wasn’t until 1942 that Congress officially recognized it as our Nation’s pledge. And in 1943 the Supreme Court ruled that children could not be forced to recite it.

-You do not have to burn a flag that has touched the ground or been marked up. It is entirely acceptable to wash and then dry clean a dirty flag. If a flag is past the point of being repaired or cleaned, it should be properly destroyed in a flag burning ceremony. If you need to you can contact your local Boy Scout organization as they hold American Flag burning ceremonies from time to time.

-The term, “Old Glory”, was used at first by a shipmaster of Salem, Massachusetts, Captain William Driver in 1831. He used the term when he had first used an American Flag given to him by some friends aboard the brig Charles Doggett. When his sailors and he set sail on a voyage and the Flag was caught by an ocean breeze he had exclaimed, “Old Glory”, which is a term still used to this very day.
